Mendas marks its 10th Birthday
Thank you to all of you who have made the last 10 years possible.
I remember having a conversation 10 years ago with someone working for one of the big consultancies at the time. I was telling him about my plans to set up a team of psychologists. He didn’t think we had much chance as we would not be able to compete with organisations like his. He chuckled at my ideas and condescendingly wished me luck.
We adopted a simple philosophy: deliver what clients need, on time, to budget and very well. We were surprised that many of our competitors did not work in this way, and so from the early days of operating from a cupboard under the stairs in my flat in Hackney, we were soon delivering projects for organisations like H.M. Customs and the FSA.
Now 10 years on, we are not only still here but going from strength to strength as you will see from the highlights of our year (See the article in Issue 4).
Now that we are an established team delivering hugely complex projects throughout the country, it is strange to think that in the early days, our clients were having to consider the risks of offering a contract to such a new organisation. I want to thank those of you who weighed up these risks and decided we could deliver what you needed . I am as glad as you are that we did not let you down and that 10 years on we are still working with many of you.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank every member of the Mendas team – past and present - who has contributed to our success. We think we are pretty good at spotting talent and it is this skill that has meant that we have put together a great team of committed and enthusiastic psychologists that continue to exceed the expectations of our clients.
So here’s to the next 10 years. Our plans are even more ambitious for the next decade. You will see us offer more services and do even more to help your organisations make the most of their people. It has been quite a journey and we hope you will stick with us for the rest of the ride.
