Personality Assessment

Assessment of personality or work style focuses upon how an individual would typically behave in work situations. There is therefore less emphasis upon capability and more upon how individuals interact with others and approach the work environment more generally.

Given that there is no associated right or wrong response to questions in relation to an individuall's typical work style, we generally advise against the use of personality assessments for selection and recruitment without providing the opportunity to follow-up on a candidate's response to the questionnaire; we recognise the dangers of taking questionnaire scores at face value.

More typically, we make use of these types of assessment in the context of individual and team development.

As with ability tests, we have no vested interest in promoting one psychometric test publisher over another. We can therefore advise organisations on the suitability of a wide range of off-the-shelf personality assessments, providing total independence and ensuring that the focus is retained on client need, rather than product availability.

There are occasions where the client's needs suggest a bespoke solution. In such cases, we will undertake the development of bespoke personality assessment from an initial needs analysis through to the design of materials and the development of comparison or norm tables, if relevant. Our bespoke personality or work style measures can be developed to be administered as traditional pencil-and-paper assessments or on-screen.
