Psychometric Tests
Psychometric tests are designed to assess a wide variety of skills considered relevant to workplace performance including basic numeracy and literacy, verbal and numerical reasoning, problem-solving, spatial awareness, checking and other administrative skills. Answers to questions on a given test are compared to a norm group, a similar group of people that have taken the test to gauge performance relative to an appropriate benchmark.
Research shows that well-designed psychometrics tests, especially delivered on-line, can cut recruitment costs by 30% to 40%.
Psychometric tests differ in content and difficulty, and are therefore suitable for a wide range of job levels and roles including senior managers, graduates, customer service personnel and administrative staff.
As we have no vested interest in promoting one psychometric test publisher or distributor over another, we can advise organisations on the suitability of a wide range of off-the-shelf test solutions, providing total independence and ensuring that the focus is retained on client need, rather than product availability.
In some cases a bespoke solution is more appropriate for the client, especially if the volume of assessments required is high. In such cases we have collaborated with clients in developing bespoke psychometric tests. This work has involved initial role analysis through to the design of materials and the development of comparison or norm tables.
Our bespoke ability tests can be developed to be administered as traditional pencil-and-paper assessments or on-screen.
