Financial Reasoning test

The Financial Reasoning test assesses how candidates analyse, interpret and use financially-related information. In addition to assessing numerical ability, this test requires understanding of the broader financial context.

Information is presented in a variety of formats, and candidates are required to identify relevant data to use to calculate the correct answer. Five potential responses are given, as well as an ‘I do not know’ option.

Credit is given for correct answers, and there is a penalty for responding incorrectly. There is no credit or penalty for the ‘I do not know’ option.

The test is administered online and a paper-based version is also available. The duration of the test is 35 minutes and there are a total of 22 questions. The use of calculators is permitted.
